Litoral - Argentina

This is a region of large rivers, humid tropics, red earth, magnificent forest, a virgin forest full of huge trees and extraordinary flora and fauna. Great Waters – “Iguazú” in the Guaraní language – overflowing into one of the world’s wonders: the Iguazú Falls.

A scenery of exuberant beauty spreading along the Iguazú National Park, Saltos del Moconá (Moconá Falls), Río Pilcomayo National Park, El Palmar National Park, Esteros del Iberá (Iberá Swamps) or the Chaco plains.

Apotheosis of Nature, where the Jesuit ruins, declared World Heritage by the UNESCO, are a vivid testimony of the Society of Jesus’ fruitful work.

Excursions, leisure and "mate"

Travellers can gaze upon fields of citrus, cotton, and mate, take thermal baths in Presidencia Roque Sáenz Peña, La Paz, María Grande, Chajarí, Federación, Concordia, Colón, San José and Villa Elisa, gamble in the casinos of Puerto Iguazú, Posadas, Corrientes, La Paz, Paraná, Federación, Concordia, Colón, Concepción del Uruguay and Gualeguaychú, or simply admire the Iguazú Falls, a unique spectacle in the world.

Jesuit Missions

Many ruins of the ancient Jesuit missions - some of which have been covered by the jungle - are located near Posadas. The most well-known ruins are in San Ignacio Miní, 56 Km away from the province’s capital. The ones in Candelaria, Loreto, Santa Ana and Santa María are also very interesting.

Corrientes and Resistencia

These are two interesting cities. Corrientes, next to the Paraná river, where Graham Greene set his novel "The Honorary Consul"; and Resistencia, capital city of the Province of Chaco and connected to Corrientes through the General Belgrano bridge, boasts more than 200 hundred urban sculptures, and the National Wood Carving Fair held in July.

Rosario

The city of Rosario lies on the banks of the Paraná River in the Province of Santa Fe. It has developed into an industrial and commercial center and destination for a significant number of people on business.
On its riverside promenade stands the Monumento Nacional a la Bandera (National Monument to the Flag), where the Argentine National Flag was raised for the first time. Parque Independencia has a magnificent artificial lake, statues, a racecourse, and the Provincial History Museum.
